'A poem is a difficult thing to define. What is it? It's a little block of ink on a page, sometimes five lines long, sometimes fifty. It's a house of memory. It's a clockwork thing you can carry in your pocket; take it out, set it to go, and it goes.'

In 2022 I developed a crush. On writing poetry.

Moving words around on the page. Experimenting with rhythm, sometimes rhyme. Working through thoughts & feelings. What a joyous way to grow & play as a writer.

Four years on and that crush has turned to love. A deep and abiding one. Poetry has become a fundamental part of my being.

I am proud to call myself a poet.
